Christmas Calendar #23

Hello Magnolia Friends!

Have you been following the Magnolia Design Team Advent Calendar daily post? I hope so.  Well, today it's my turn to open Shutter #23. Two more days 'til Christmas and the excitement is felt everywhere.

My card for you today features DooHickey Dies from the DooHickey Club Kit Volume 2.  This was the first Christmas DooHickey Club set.  I made it simple and easy and if you have last minute cards to make, this is one quick project that you can whip up in just minutes.

I used Tim Holtz's Core-dination Distress Collection card stock. It's so easy to give a distressed look by just sanding the edges of the paper pieces.

Some corrugated board is always a good accent and texture for your creations.

The sentiment is from the A Lovely Christmas Collection.

I hope you got inspired with my simple card today.  If you want to win a Special Prize from Magnolia, please leave a comment below and I will pick a winner on Christmas eve.

Good Luck and thanks for dropping by!

Happy Holidays!

Month Tilda

Hello Magnolia Fans!
Yes, I'm back! It's been a long time and I apologize for being MIA.  As I said in my previous post...life got in the way and threw me a curve ball! But hey! I'm glad to be back!

My card today features a stamp from the latest Boho Collection from Magnolia. It's called Month Tilda. I colored her a few weeks ago but I didn't get a chance to post the card I made because I wanted the recipient of this card to receive it first.

As always, I colored Tilda using Distress Ink Reinkers.  The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts. The DooHickey Dies used are: Flag and Cloud, Tilda Tag, Jolly Tag and Lace Coaster. I used a
Go Kreate  Frilly #5 for the main card.

And of course some lace, seam binding, jute string and some air dry clay hearts to complete the card.

Thank you for stopping by and I hope to see you again soon!

Art Journal Video: Cake

Hello Magnolia Friends!

I'm sure most of you already have the Magnolia DooHickey Club Kit # 5 (Celebration). I've seen several beautiful cards and projects using these lovely dies. Instead of a card,  I'm sharing with you t an Art Journal Page I made using the dies in the Celebration Club Kit.

Making this page was so much fun and playing with paint and Magnolia Doohickey Dies for Art Journals has recently become my favorite activity.

Here is a photo of the Art Journal page and you can watch the video below to see how I made it.

Here's the video

Watch on YouTube HERE.

Well, I hope you enjoyed watching and I please let me know what you think!

Thanks for dropping by and I hope to see you again soon!

Shadow Stamps Part 1

Hello Magnolia Fans!

I have some exciting news for you.  Magnolia has just released some cute and fun Shadow Stamps.  This will be my first installment of cards with Magnolia Shadow Stamps.  If you love CAS (clean and simple) cards or you need cards that are easy to make and also can fit in a regular envelop with no bulk...these stamps are perfect for you.  But of course, you can also incorporate this stamps with other Magnolia Stamps for your cards.

I have 3 cards to share with you today.
I kept them all in a CAS theme to make the stamps the main focus of the cards.

For card #1, I used some stamps that were part of the Stamp Club that was recently released: the grass, the stem with the flower.  This 2 piece stamp comes as a set called Forget Me Not.  The Sun and the sentiment is from the set called Happy Day.  The cloud is from the set called Dream and it comes with the text "dream" and a small heart.

I do not have ink pads other than Distress Ink pads so I stamped the images in watercolor paper (by Tim Holtz) to have a textured look.  After stamping, I used a wet brush to spread the color with in the boundaries of the image.  For the clouds, I heat embossed it using VersaMark Ink and white embossing powder.  I added some Magnolia Knick Knackery pearls to the flowers.

For card #2, I used the Best Friends stamp set.  It comes with the flower set and a "best friends" text stamp.  The leaves for the the flowers and the sentiment is from the set called For you.

I did the same technique here but stamping the images using Distress Ink pads on watercolor paper and spread the color using  a wet brush.  I also added some KK pearls to the flowers.

For card #3, I used the Make a Wish stamp set.  I heat embossed the stars and added a wash of Faded Jean Ink on watercolor paper.  I die cut a small tag using one of the Tea Label Tags DooHickey Dies and stamped the sentiment.  Then I tied some jute to tie the tag and I added some sequins.

Using cold press watercolor paper is perfect for this stamps because it added texture and character to the images.

So, what do you think about the new Magnolia Shadow Stamps? Well, I think they are pretty neat!
So cute and fun and a must-have for your collection!

I am working on a few more cards using Magnolia Shadow Stamps to stay tuned!
Have a wonderful week a head and I'll see you again soon!

Follow Your Heart

Hi Magnolia fans!
I have a card to share with you today featuring Follow Me Tilda from the World Wide Web Collection.  This image is perfect for all the bloggers and social media enthusiasts and those who work on their computers a lot.

Tilda is colored using Distress Ink Reinkers.  For her shirt and her hair bow, I mixed equal parts of Iced Spruce and Stormy Sky to match the color with the flowers on the designer paper. The desinger paper is from Magnolia so are the flowers and the bow (Magnolia DooHickey).
