Shutter 28 Magnolia Advent Calendar

Welcome back to my Magnolia Blog! I do hope you enjoyed your Christmas Celebration.
Today, it is my turn to open Shutter # 28 of the Magnolia Advent Calendar. I chose to showcase a simple card that features Tilda with Little Rudolf.

I colored the image with Distress Ink Reinkers on Arches HP WC 140lbs paper.  The DP is from Magnolia and I distressed the edges and painted with white acrylic paint.
I also used the Spruce and Vintage Tag DooHickey. The flowers and holly leaves are from WOC and the pine cone is from my stash.

Now for the best part, if you leave a comment here, you will get a chance to win a beautiful prize directly from Magnolia Sweden. The winner will be chosen tomorrow and I will be posting it here!
So good luck and I hope you like my card for today!

Thanks for visiting!

Christmas Paper Bag

Hiya! So the snow storm that was supposed to hit us last night didn't actually make it! It snowed just enough to make tiny specks of white on the grass. But the wind was so strong! I guess I have to accept that I won't have a White Christmas.
Anyway, I have a Christmas Gift bag to share with you.  I used the stamp that was a free gift from Xmas Magnolia Ink 2012. I love this stamp because it's so versatile. You can use it for a Christmas card, a birthday card or any occasion card...especially for those who have/love dogs.
I colored the image weeks ago with Copic Sketch Markers (which I didn't take note of). I used a Magnolia DooHickeys (Memory Tag, Twisted Swirl) Lifestyle Craft Snowflakes Die, MS Branch Punch and a Label Nestabilities. THe DP is from Magnolia. The 2 small roses and Red Crystal Stems are from WOC and the poinsettia is from Hero Arts. The rose trim is from Maya Road and the rest of the details/embellishments are from my stash.

Ok I think I have one more CAS Christmas Card to share. I'm sure I have a few more which I have not shared yet but the pictures are probably in my other computer so when I do find them (hopefully before Christmas), I will share them with you!

Have a warm and wonderful Christmas everyone!

Tilda with Violin 2

Hi there Magnolia friends! It's been 290 days since the last snowfall here in Chicago. And it's gonna end today! This afternoon, we are expecting a winter storm and about 2-6 inches on snow. Are we prepared for the snow? Yes, we are! I have some carrots, a hat, some twigs, gloves and an old scarf... We are prepared to make a snowman! LOL Every winter, me and my son make a snowman in front of our house. I'm hopping this time we can make a big one.
For my card today, I have Holy Tilda with Violin from the Nativity Collection 2012.  I colored Tilda with Copics and I used a very light ink pad to stamp the image.  I wanted to get that no-lines effect but my ink was not light enough to blend with the Copics. This was one of my first no-lines technique tries and I just forgot to share this...now that it is on a card.
I was aiming for a neutral, cream and brown color combo
with a little touch of light blue (from the DP which I totally have no idea what it was), Flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts, I used dies from Tim Holtz, Magnolia DooHickeys and Cheery Lynn

I have a couple more cards to share before Christmas and I made my last Christmas card for my Magnolia Advent Calendar  shutter which you we see a couple days after Christmas.
To those of us who will be hit by the "Thunder Snow Storm" this afternoon, PLEASE be careful and drive safe.
I'll be back again tomorrow with another card!
Thanks for visiting!

The beautiful flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts.

A closer look at Edwin.

Tilda with a Blue Ribbon Heart Scarf

Hi Magnolia Friends!
I have another blue Christmas/Winter card to share with you. I did mention before that I LOVE the color blue and I just can't get enough of it!
It's Christmas in less than 2 weeks! Have you made enough Christmas card to give your friends and family? Well, I have been making flat cards which are faster to make (I think) and I just add a tag for the sentiment...just like this one.

I have made a number of blue Christmas/Winter cards. So last night I asked myself..."Do I really have a "blue Christmas"? Blue meaning a sad and lonely Christmas... I don't think so! I just love the color!

I used a no black lines technique to color Tilda with Ribbon  Heart Scarf with Distress Ink Reinkers.  This technique of coloring is really fun to do but I really need lots of practice.

A closer look at Tilda. I used glitter pens to trace the snowflakes

 DI Used:
Skin: Tattered Rose, Spun Sugar
Hair: Walnut Stain
Hat, Scarf, boots: Faded Jeans, Weathered Wood
Sweater Dress: Antique Linen, Vintage Photo
Eyes. brows: Multi-liner pen
Snowflakes: Star Dust Glitter Pen
*~*~*~*~*~

The pull-out  tag has the sentiment.
DP: MLYB Winterings
DooHickeys: Wedding Swirl, Poinsettia. Tilda Doily
MS Branch Punch
WOC flower
ribbons, twine, charm from stash

Celebrate Christmas

This is a late post. I totally forgot to post this here after posting it on my Main Blog.

My card is one of my Christmas flat cards.  I used Dancing Tilda with Stars and she is my favorite stamp from the Little Christmas Collection 2012.

I colored Tilda with Copics. I didn't plan to color her using the "no black lines" technique.  I accidently switched the covers of my Memento Tuxedo Black and London Fog ink pads.  And because I stamped it on MIC blending card (which is like precious gold to me and I didn't want to waste it) I had to color it just as it was! And I kinda like how it turned out!

Copics used:
Skin: E0000, 000, 00, 21
Hair: E47, 37, 35, 33, 51
Red: R89, 29, 27, 24, 22
Wings/White stripes: W3, 2, 1, 0

The red and white flowers and the holly leaves are from Wild Orchid Crafts and the pine cone
and berries are from Hobby Lobby.  The DP is from Glitz and the metal corner, lace and ribbon (which is not visible) is from my stash.  The sentiment/calendar is from LOTV.

And Don't Forget!!!!!

Our Magnolia Christmas Calendar has started last Saturday!
Visit the Magnolia Inspiration Blog and click on the Advent Calendar for that day. Each day a Magnolia DT has a special blog post for the Advent Calender.
And for a chance to win a fabulous package from Magnolia, just leave a comment on that DT's post and she will pick out a winner.

Black & White

Happy Weekend Friends!

I'd like to share with you a black and white card I made.  I colored Tilda with
Copic Sketch Markers Toner Gray 0-8
I apologize for the photo. I don't know how to set my camera to take a decent black and white photo.  These are the best photos I can take.

 I used MIC blending card.
Copic Recipe:
Skin: T3, T2, T1, T0
Hair: T6, T4, T2, T0

In Order for me to get a really nice contrast in color, I laid the card on top of the Magnolia Ink Magazine so you can see the it really it black & white :)

Thanks!

Happy Thanksgiving!
America is celebrating one of the biggest holidays of the year today. But because I was not born and raised here in the US, we really don't celebrate it like others do. At the same time, when we arrived here in the US,  my husband and I always worked on holidays. If I work on Thanksgiving, he works on Christmas. And if I work on New Years Eve, he works on Thanksgiving the next year.  We are both Registered Nurses and that's part of a nurse's life...I guess.
But this year, it's gonna be different. We were invited by some friends to have Thanksgiving dinner with them. And I made this card to give the hostess.
I guess I can call this a CAS card. And believe me, this took me way longer to finish than my fully embellished cards! For some reason I just don't know how to make a CAS card look nice! This is the best I can do.
Stamps used are from the Nativity Collection and I colored the image with Distress Ink Reinkers. And I used Perfect Layering Rulers to layer the papers.
Thanksgiving may be celebrated once a year, but giving thanks doesn't have to. And at this note, I would like to thank all of you who take time to visit my blog and leave me lovely comments.  I really, really appreciate it! You are my inspiration.

I hope you like my card for today. And thank you for stopping by!
Hugs,
Mae
